Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah will address the first meeting of the G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the Era of NFTs, AI and the Metaverse on 13 July 2023 in Gurugram, Haryana. During the event, the Home Minister will also launch a cyber volunteer squad made up of volunteers from seven prestigious educational institutions in India. These volunteers play a key role in creating cyber awareness, identifying and reporting harmful content, and providing technical assistance to ensure a cyber-safe society. Scheduled for 13th and 14th July, the two-day conference will bring together over 900 participants from G20 countries, nine specially invited countries, international organizations, technology leaders, India and around the world. Building a cyber-safe India is a top priority for the Home Office under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Affairs Minister. The conference aims to build a safe cyberspace and establish global partnerships to prioritize cybersecurity concerns. Discussions will focus on cybersecurity measures, especially cybercrime related to emerging technologies such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), artificial intelligence (AI) and the Metaverse.
Given the economic and geopolitical implications of cybersecurity, cybersecurity has become an important aspect of international security issues. The growing focus on cybersecurity within the G20 Forum could positively contribute to ensuring the security and integrity of critical information infrastructures and digital public platforms. Deliberations on cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention at the G20 Forum will also help build an information-sharing framework.
The “G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the Age of NFTs, AI and the Metaverse” will serve as a platform for exchanging cutting-edge ideas and knowledge, and networking with global visionaries. The conference will include prominent cyber experts representing a variety of sectors including legal, academia, training institutions, financial intermediaries, fintech, social media intermediaries, information and communication technology, cyber forensics, regulators, start-ups and over-the-top.
