PURCHASE, NEW YORK – (March 3, 2023) – Purchase College Student Government Chancellor Red Addis and Vice Chancellor Meghan Moynihan learned more about the new Broadview at Purchase Senior Living Community currently under construction on campus through a virtual reality (VR) tour.
Students donned Oculus VR headsets and Broadview executive director Ashley Wade explained the many features of the community, including swimming pools, fitness centers, movie theaters, spas and salons, dining facilities, and on-site health centers. explained. Purchase at Broadview is one of the few senior living communities using virtual reality for marketing. Future residents can get a very realistic tour of the property and all of its amenities before the property is built.
Broadview hired SPINE, an award-winning Miami-based interactive media and 3D visualization studio, to create custom VR tours. According to Wade, Broadview is one of the first companies to adopt this technology in senior living spaces to showcase the community. She said the technology was a boon during the pandemic when prospective residents were unable to visit the office for tours.
“It’s very real,” said Wade. “It was a convenient way for future residents to see what we were like in an era when people weren’t going out.”
Broadview at Purchase champions intergenerational connectivity and lifelong learning. A unique concept, the Founders Learning Commons building is designed for students and Broadview residents to learn together. With 95% of the residences reserved, Broadview at Purchase has over 300 charter members (future residents who have reserved the residences), already forming a sense of community.
