    Steph Van Niekerk, executive creative director of TBWA\Hunt Lascaris, said the campaign will resonate with people who need a break.

    “This is a recognition that sooner or later, we all have to face endless problems in our lives, big and small. The unforgivingness of things, when it can push you over the edge to a place where you no longer have words.

    Van Niekerk said: “The innovative use of subtitles in place of dialogue speaks to all of us who have nothing more to say to the relentlessness of everyday life and just need a break. It makes me realize how I feel.”

    She said City Lodge Hotel aims to position itself as a solution to the stresses of everyday life and said the ad was targeted at Africans between the ages of 24 and 45.

    “We target people who travel for work and leisure, whether it’s a good old vacation or a short getaway.The pandemic has changed the face of travel, and remote work has made it possible to combine business and leisure. The aim of our new campaign is to speak to this new type of traveller,” concludes Van Niekerk.
