    There was a time when the value of television was controversial.It invaded our living rooms and allowed celebrity heroes and their sponsors to reframe our worldview. It was a strange device. Just as Vietnam’s atrocities spilled through a hazy window, so did Archie Bunker, The Golden Girls, and eventually reality TV. We carefully coordinate our messages with advertisers who have paid for us. What television did or didn’t do to society, not the subject of this article, is to add context to the next potential intruder, the Metaverse, that influence and how it was formed.

    The Metaverse presents opportunities like never before. We have the power to create action-based, empowered environments where learners can practice, get real-time feedback, travel to unseen worlds, and talk to their heroes. Differentiate at the touch of a key and meet where every learner learns best.

    In the process of building a metaverse of learning, business and education leaders must be natural thought partners. Ultimately, the basic point of opportunity is the same when looking at issues that affect success, retention, culture, and overall day-to-day processes. Our collective metaverse should be rich with case studies, research, best practices and shared practices.

    But somehow we seem reluctant to go around the corner and get involved.
