What Does Generative AI Mean For Your Brand And What Does It Have To Do With The Future Of The Metaverse?

    Published on:

ChatGPT, Midjourney, Lensa AI, Deep Fakes – Generative AI is changing the content landscape. What is Art? How does AI copyright work? Is it ethical to use generative AI in my work? Is generative AI a fad or a useful tool for brands?

me and co-founder Brandon KaplanJourney’s Chief Innovation Officer, answered these questions in a recent webinar we hosted on Generative AI, what it means for brands, and the role of AI in the future of Metavese.

Like many technologies, generative AI has been in development for years. Just as the iPhone revolutionized consumer experience in 2006, OpenAI is a user-friendly interface and API that will revolutionize consumer behavior in 2023 and beyond.

    What is generative AI?

Artificial intelligence is a technology that can perform tasks previously only performed by humans. “Generative AI refers to artificial intelligence that can generate new content rather than simply analyzing existing data and acting on it,” said Brandon Kaplan. AI is a slice: robots, deep learning, machine learning, and conversational artificial intelligence are all part of the AI pie.

A generative AI pie chart is an example of a type of AI. Some Artificial Intelligence may overlap with others. This is not the whole pie, especially as AI evolves and we find new ways to use it.

ChatGPT, a sub-product of OpenAI, is the best-known AI tool. Over 1 million users in just 5 days. “His GPT3, the currently available version, has been trained with 175 billion parameters or data points. Coming this year, his GPT4 will likely have him trained with over 100 trillion parameters,” said Brandon. Kaplan said. Generative artificial intelligence is a rich technology. “When used ethically and appropriately, we can use these technologies to scale our operations and create better products and experiences,” Kaplan explains. Use it for inspiration, break writer’s block, and scale with AI. Connect and personalize generative AI to different datasets to generate content and reduce friction.

    Types of generative AI

Generative AI comes in all kinds of forms. Many generative AI applications are visual, such as generating images, videos, and avatars. Generative AI can also write text, summarize articles, and generate code. Audio is another area where generative AI is active.

    sentence

ChatGPT is the most famous text generation AI. Coders can build 3x faster. You can try it yourself. Ask ChatGPT to generate the code for you and review it (or ask a friend) to see how it matches. ChatGPT can generate code and text quickly, but it’s important to double check. ChatGPT is a machine learning model. Although trained on large data sets, every model has data bias.

    image

Generative Image AI can create art from scratch, modify photos (such as removing objects), and add objects to photos. Image AI types include Midjourney and Lensa. Neural Radiance Fields (AI NeRF) is a new type of AI that generates 3D models from 2D images. NVIDIA has created instant NeRF that achieves over 1,000x speedups in some cases.their model It takes seconds to train on dozens of still photos (and data on camera angles) to render the resulting 3D scene within tens of milliseconds.

    video

Pictory and Potion video dubbing, video generation. Generative AI can create scenes from scratch or transform existing videos into new ones, like Runway’s Gen-1 program. They call it video-to-video that can be used for storyboarding, masking, rendering, but otherwise unleashing your creativity with generative video AI.

    audio

Generative Audio AI creates media from scratch using synthesized speech. “Audio space, the ability to create, transform, edit, dub and translate audio, will be the underlying media element of a lot of what we create,” he said. In the future, you may type on a virtual keyboard, and you’ll likely be typing a lot of your voice.

    Avatar

Avatar generation is the generation of virtual beings through generative AI to rapidly create and deploy virtual and interactive characters in physical and virtual environments. You can upload your own photo using DID or Synthesia, or choose a ready-made avatar. They auto-connect to ChatGPT and other tools, and full conversational avatars can be spun up in minutes.

The ability to use generatively designed NPCs in virtual worlds and games is amazing and will change engagement on gaming platforms. But generative AI avatars are more than just looks. This is where the Cloud Edge conversation begins. AWS Sim Space Weaver is one of the larger services that can hold up to 1 million entities per instance.

    data

Synthetic data created by AI trained on real-world datasets. “The ability to connect generative tools to some of our data and modeling systems will be very exciting,” he said. Use generative AI to create variable data sets based on the specific amount of data you already have about your consumer or audience. Generative AI can also be used to clean, filter, discriminate, and populate data, and even explore new insights. Use generative AI to model data on audience behavior, product design, physical retail environments, and more.

What Generative AI Means for Brands

    hyper personalization

These tools allow us to personalize much of the consumer experience and how we receive content around the world. “We can generate predictive content based on live data that is happening in the world.

One application is retail. Kaplan explains: Same caption, same price. They’ve seen the same explanation. ” Generative AI gives her the ability to customize her website, products, and descriptions for the person viewing the page. Instead of guessing clothing size charts, AI will automatically show you a page. This will lead to more conversions.

    Consumer choice in customization

Next-gen advertising is another area where generative AI can help. “People are all seeing the same main image, the same background, the same five or he six images. They see the same caption, the same price. They’ve seen the same description.” Kaplan said. He recommends feeding data through generative AI and subtly delivering different versions of ads that speak to where people are. Generative AI has a hype cycle, but these are the tools businesses and brands can use today to understand their revenue streams and find their audience in a way that works for them.

don’t trust everything you see or read

ChaptGPT is only a few months old. That data set is only up to 2021. Kaplan warns: There are many experts. So please tread lightly. Educate yourself, but don’t trust everything you see. “

Generative AI in 2023 and beyond

We are just beginning to understand how generative AI will be used at work and at play, and how it will affect our work. Generative AI will have a profound impact on the economy of creators and how brands interact with their communities. Generative AI is another tool brands should add to their stack. We believe that generative AI will succeed as long as brands do their own research, open their minds and are not afraid to experiment.

Ready to use generative AI for your brand? Do you still have a lot of unanswered questions? As the use of AI continues to advance and its adoption accelerates, so many new questions will arise.

As I wrote in a Forbes article in 2020, I know there is electricity when I turn on the light or open the refrigerator, but I don’t think about how it works. Similarly, artificial intelligence, sensors, and robot-to-device communication become the “electricity” that powers the backend of the Metaverse. The physical world we live in becomes machine-readable, clickable, and searchable. There’s a new interface and new ways to navigate and create content. We create a new lexicon, a new architecture for our digital self and the digital world around us.
